Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is the process of getting your website as close as possible to the top of the results pages of one or more search engines.
A general rule for SEO is to ensure every page title is unique, description information should be less than 70 characters long and contain the target keywords.

1. Meta tag creation including title & description tags
The Meta Tags on a website are the first point of marketing on Google and search engines, you should include a homepage title tag and a description tag that describes the type of service you do.
Lets started with the title tag this is used in the search engine results as the “title” for the page.

The meta description gives you space to write a more detailed description of that page. It is recommended up to 70 characters is the maximum advisable length.

Start with the main search engines like Google, Yahoo! directory and Bing, then add your business to local free listings in your area. You increase the potential customers finding your new website when you add yourself to more listings.
NOTE: Google & Yahoo! require you to sign up before you can submit your new website URL for listing.
3. Promoting your business on Social Media
With Social Media playing such an important part today in helping small businesses increase brand awareness it’s also a great place to gain business via referrals.
A Good place to start is Facebook & Twitter.

Websites that are listed in Google Places can appear at the top of search results next to a Google local map.
